A fine needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) is a minimally invasive procedure used to obtain cells from a suspicious lump or area of the body for laboratory analysis. Using a thin, hollow needle and gentle suction, small samples of cells or fluid are collected and examined under a microscope. FNAB is commonly performed to evaluate abnormal growths and plays an important role in diagnosing conditions such as cancer.
